The U.S.S. Enterprise heads out on a five-year mission to explore the final frontier of space, setting out into uncharted territory. On its first leg of the journey, the ship is nearly destroyed, stranding Captain Kirk and his crew on a hostile planet, whereupon they encounter a mysterious new enemy.
